2013 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION INFORMATION

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 5:00 PM MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2013
Please submit your completed application to the Alumni Office, Room 301-B.
SPECIAL NOTE: FINALISTS must be available for a brief EVENING interview on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
More than $70,000 in College Scholarships will be awarded to more than 30 seniors, thanks to the generosity of alumni and other members of the Stuyvesant community. The scholarships include two awards of $12,500 each, six awards of $2,500 each, eight awards of $2,000 each, and many $1,000 awards. All seniors are encouraged to apply. The various scholarships are based on various selection criteria including personal essays and recommendations, and one or more of the following: academic achievement; financial need; educational interests and goals; extracurricular interests and activities; and other considerations.
The 2013 competition also includes a number of MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS which are not based on financial need: Arts Grants of $1,000 each for seniors who excel in Art, or Dance, or Music (CLICK HERE to download the separate Arts Grants application); Daniel Bergstein ’80 Memorial Scholarship for a senior who will attend Barnard or CUNY or Columbia (CLICK HERE to download the separate Bergstein application); Roberto González '95 Scholarship for Haverford College for a senior who will attend Haverford; South Florida Alumni Association of Stuyvesant High School Award for a senior who will attend college in Florida.
