Stuyvesant High School Social Studies teacher George Kennedy was honored by Education Update magazine as one of its 'Teachers of the Year' for 2012. He has been a teacher for 27 years, with the last 10 years at Stuyvesant. In addition to being a superb teacher of American History, Economics, and his extremely popular Wall Street class, Mr. Kennedy has served as the faculty adviser for the Junior Achievement Student Business Plan Competition, the Federal Reserve Bank Challenge, the Stuy Young Entrepreneurs Club, and other business-related initiatives. He is currently working with Citigroup and the Mellon Bank to develop mentorships and other opportunities for our students. To learn more, check the Education Update article.
Stuyvesant's NYC championship History Day Tournament student team competed in the recent New York State contest, where they advanced to the final round of this very competitive event.
