S-PREP (State Pre-College Enrichment Program) is a rigorous academic program that runs from October to May designed for students who are interested in the medical sciences. Courses may include but are not limited to anatomy, biochemistry, embryology, calculus, genetics, neuroscience, organic chemistry, physics, physiology, and pre-calculus. Students must be Black, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native or economically disadvantaged (see criteria on the application).
Students in all grades are accepted into the program. Applications are available outside of Room 802. The deadline is Wednesday, July 15th. However, the applications require a transcript and teacher recommendation so you should work on gathering these items before the end of the school year. Applications are also available at: http://cpmcnet.columbia.edu/dept/ps/minority/minorityaffairs/prep.html
