Sari K. Halper Dickson '87 passed away on January 30, 2009 from cancer.  Sari was President of the Stuyvesant  High School Alumni Association from March 2002 to December 2005; manager of the Peglegs, the Stuyvesant Football Team, while a student; wife of John Dickson; sister of Shauna Halper '93; and mother of Diana (five), Aleksander (three) and Zachary (one).

The Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association is inspired by the life and deeply saddened by the passing on of our friend and past president.  Sari’s friendship and leadership will continue to inspire us and all the lives she touched, both throughout the extended Stuyvesant community and through all of her charitable, personal and work activities.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Update 4/23/09: Sari's mother Barbara, her husband John, her sister Shauna (SHS '93) and other family members have formed a team that will  be participating in Relay for Life, an event that will be held on June 14th.  It honors those who have lost their battles against cancer, as well as those who have survived.  They are walking in memory of Sari, and if anyone wants to join the team - or make a donation in any amount - please click on the link below.
