We are trying to leave time open for folks to do their own thing too. The Ithaca Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning is like none other- food, music, crafts, and organic produce all on the shore of the inlet! Also, Treman State Park, just outside of town has the most spectacular gorge and waterfall walk. If you want to hit the highlights only, start at the top and double back, or you can do a full circle more challenging hike.
Because we need to put down deposits, and get a sense of the numbers for these events, I would really appreciate it if you could send checks to cover the costs of the events you know you will be attending as soon as you humanly can. We do have space limitations for Saturday night and Sunday brunch, so this will assure you a place as well.
Accomodations:
We have a block of rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn in downtown Ithaca, for July 9th and July 10th. Our discounted price is $162 for a room on the 1st or 2nd floor of the main building (walk up only) or a room in the tower for $179. They will keep this block open for us until May 29th. www.hiithaca.com
Getting there - Getting around:
Ithaca is about a 4-hour drive from the city (I can send you my tried and true directions). Greyhound does go there from the city. We could try and arrange carpools. Let me know if you are driving from the city and would be willing to bring someone, or if you need a ride. You can also fly right into Ithaca, or fly to Syracuse and take the bus- it is about an hour on the bus.
If you stay at the Holiday Inn, they will provide a free Shuttle from the airport or the bus station. All the events are within walking distance from downtown and the campus, except for the picnic, which is a 20 min car ride from downtown.
