Roald Hoffman '55 shared the 1981 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Kenichi Fukui. He is currently a Professor at Cornell University. He received an American Chemical Society awards in organic chemistry (the Arthur C. Cope Award in 1973) and in inorganic chemistry (the Monsanto Award in 1982). He was awarded the Priestley Medal by the ACS in 1990. He was also the winner of the National Academy of Sciences Award in Chemical Sciences in 1986.
